Parker Finn- Hot Seat Interview- Director- Smile
You would think there was a lot of pressure on director Parker Finn to make a hit with Smile considering it was his first feature. Maybe he has ice in the veins because boy does the director from Bath Township, Ohio seem to know what he’s doing. After the booming success of his short film Laura Hasn’t Slept, the concept was expanded on, turning it into Smile, a creepy new horror of a smiling entity following a woman cursed. It’s not only a great kind of horror to experience with an audience, and something that most certainly will gain sequels, but it’s also a display of great natural talent from Finn. I was lucky to talk to Parker at Fantastic Fest about Smile, his inspirations, directing his star Sosie Bacon, and getting the jump scares just right. Watch it here:
