Vicky Krieps- Hot Seat Interview- Actor- Went Up the Hill

When Paul Thomas Anderson made Phantom Thread, the one thing audiences were most talking about was not just Daniel Day-Lewis, the gorgeous costumes, or the cinematography, but Vicky Krieps. The actress delivered her breakout performance with an emphatic bang, becoming the muse of audiences and catching the eye of various directors. This set her on a path to become a darling of the independent cinema scene. That momentum has not stopped. Krieps, the 41-year-old actor from Germany, has continued to impress, with powerful performances in Corsage, Old, and will soon be seen in Jim Jarmusch’s Father Mother Sister Brother. Her newest film, Went Up the Hill, is another powerhouse performance, with Krieps playing a vulnerable and emotional widow, connecting with the son of her late wife. I was incredibly grateful to have Krieps on the Hot Seat to talk about the impression the film Breaking the Waves had on her, the impact of the attention she received from Phantom Thread, and trusting the process on set.
