Lindsey Anderson Beer- Hot Seat Interview- Director- Pet Sematary: Bloodlines

Having a Stephen King classic be your first feature sounds like a daunting task. For director Lindsey Anderson Beer, no matter how difficult, she was up for the challenge, not just because she cares, but because she also has a passion and understanding that you need to get a Stephen King movie right. Pet Sematary: Bloodlines is a prequel to the 1989 and 2019 versions, going back to the late 1960s to meet a younger Jud Crandall and find out why the dead come back to life in the town of Ludlow. One thing is for sure Beer nails the tone and the setting, with creepy masks, scary grave sites, and some dead-ly animals. I was lucky enough to talk with Lindsey at Fantastic Fest 2023, all about the movies that inspired her to be a director, her efforts to make scenes extra bloody, and what other Stephen King books she would like to turn into a movie.
