Lou Diamond Phillips- Hot Seat Interview- Actor- Gangland

I knew who Lou Diamond Phillips was when I was a kid. One of my favorite vinyl records that my father owned was the La Bamba soundtrack. I would blast the title track in the living room and dance, with the recognizable face of LDP on the cover, and long before I knew how good an actor he was. Now, a true legend of cinema, Phillips broke out with his career-defining performance as Ritchie Valens and has been a constant professional, always bringing his unique swagger to a role. He won an Independent Spirit Award for Stand and Deliver, and he broke out his rugged good looks in the western Young Guns. And to this very day, Phillips has only gotten better with age. His newest film, Gangland, is a truly gritty police drama in which Phillips plays a bitter police officer on an Oklahoma reservation, looking to take down the leader of a vicious gang. On the Hot Seat this week, I had a pleasant chat with Lou about his work on Gangland, the cultural impact of his films, and his thoughts on music biopics today. Watch it now:
