Director/Writer Annick Blanc packs a powerful punch in her films. Her previous work was short films including her award-nominated The Colour of Your Lips, which was a dark apocalyptic narrative and proved that Blanc was ready to take it to the next level of feature filmmaking. Hunting Daze though, is much more than just a step up, it’s the type of impressive debuts that instantly has you asking, “What are you going to make next?” With Hunting Daze making its world premiere at SXSW 2024, I was able to speak with Annick, where we discussed her love for the character of Ellen Ripley, having fun but being safe with fire, and turning her set into a wild bachelor party.
