Sidney Flanigan & Dutch Southern- Hot Seat Interview- Actor- Director- Only the Good Survive
It’s safe to say that 24-year old Sidney Flanigan made an instant impact as an actor. The Buffalo, New York natives performance in Never Rarely Sometimes Always is one of the greatest displays of acting in the last ten years. Talk about setting the bar high. But something tells me Flanigan is up for it. She’s a natural talent and is even the lead singer in her own band Starjuice. Writer/director Dutch Southern is the perfect voice to work with Flanigan on his directorial debut– Only the Good Survive. This is a unique approach to a heist film, blending various styles, and introducing original characters to elevate every frame. It’s an exciting time for two rising talents, with Only the Good Survive premiering Friday March 10th, opening night at the SXSW film festival. I was able to chat with Sidney and Dutch a few days before the screening, where we talked about handling the pressure, working together on the film, and instantly bonding with the rest of the cast.
