Judas and the Black Messiah is arriving at select theaters and HBO Max this Friday. IShaka King’s film is powerful. The director has gathered a family of actors, some of the best working in Hollywood right now, and telling the brutally honest story of Black Panther leader Fred Hampton. Lead by powerful performances from LaKeith Stanfield, Daniel Kaluuya, and Dominique Fishback, Judas and the Black Messiah is the kind of film that gives you the chills. It’s making an impact from the start, with a collection of talent that brings everything they have. As a member of the Chicago Indie Critics, we had the opportunity to have a roundtable interview with the cast- including Chairman Fred Hampton Jr., Stanfield, and Kaluuya.
