Tim Blake Nelson & Henry Nelson- Hot Seat Interview- Actor- Writer- Director- Asleep in My Palm
Tim Blake Nelson has reached a point in his career where he can call the shots. The phenomenal 59-year-old actor, who made a name for himself working with the Coen Brothers in O Brother, Where Art Thou? and The Ballad of Buster Scruggs, has started to make passion projects and the results have been fantastic. His recent western Old Henry was a massive independent hit and proved that TBN can carry a movie on his own. His recent film, Asleep in My Palm is a different kind of passion project because it is written and directed by his son Henry Nelson. And while Tim‘s performance is once again spectacular, it’s the voice and direction of Henry that shines most. It’s an impressive debut, with a story that oozes authenticity, has a genuine voice, and proves that in the Nelson household, cinema is in the blood. I was lucky to talk to both Tim and Henry, and we chatted about the movies that inspired them, working together on set, and bringing Asleep in My Palm to life. Watch it here:
